Mwangi, Adan, and Mutunga Present Themselves to DCI Authorities

Activists Boniface Mwangi and Hanifa Adan, along with former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and Haki Africa Executive Director Hussein Khalid, presented themselves at the DCI headquarters in Kiambu. They arrived on Monday to address the rising abductions since the Finance Bill 2024 protests began.

Mwangi, who survived an abduction attempt, stated, “We were almost abducted on Friday. If we have broken any law, take us to court. Abduction and torture are illegal.” Mutunga emphasized the unconstitutionality of the abductions, citing Article 238.

Despite youth groups gathering outside, only the four activists and their legal representatives were allowed inside. Public outrage has grown over these abductions, which involve sudden attacks by multiple individuals. Although some abductees have been released after public outcry, the whereabouts of protest mobilizer Shad Khalif remain unknown.
