The United States men’s national soccer team won their Copa América opener with a 2-0 victory over Bolivia on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Christian Pulisic and Folarin Balogun scored as Team USA dominated throughout the match. Pulisic netted the first goal just over two minutes in after a short corner pass from Timothy Weah. He bent the ball perfectly over the Bolivian goalkeeper, marking his 30th international goal.
The second goal came in the 44th minute when Pulisic set up Balogun, who fired a low shot through the defender’s legs and past the keeper.
Despite several second-half chances, including two near-misses from substitute Ricardo Pepi, the score remained 2-0. The U.S. secured their first three points of the tournament with this victory.
