Arsenal have been linked with various players this summer but have yet to finalize any signings. However, they have reportedly activated David Raya’s release clause of £25 million, and he is expected to join Arsenal on a permanent deal.
Oleksandr Zinchenko has been linked with a move away from the Emirates after an underwhelming season marred by injuries. Jakub Kiwior has been brought in to cover the left-back position, with Jurrien Timber, who returned from injury on the last matchday of the previous season, also expected to play there next season.
Gabriel Magalhães and William Saliba were pivotal in central defense last season, helping Arsenal concede the fewest goals in the league and maintain the most clean sheets. Their performances were crucial in David Raya winning the Golden Glove award.
Benjamin White, despite not being selected for the England squad for Euro 2024, played an important role as right-back last season, earning a spot in the Premier League Team of the Season. He is expected to retain his position.
Declan Rice and Martin Ødegaard were phenomenal last season, with Rice stepping up as a record signing and being a key player in the central defensive midfield position.
Arsenal are linked with Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães, who impressed last season. With Newcastle potentially facing financial issues and needing to comply with FFP rules, they may be forced to sell Bruno. If Arsenal secures his signing, Bruno could join Rice and Ødegaard in the midfield. Thomas Partey’s future is uncertain after a long battle with injuries, which saw him miss a significant portion of games since joining the Gunners, including much of last season.
Up front, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz are irreplaceable and are expected to keep their positions. However, on the left wing, Gabriel Martinelli’s form dipped last season, with Leandro Trossard stepping up in the second half of the season and becoming a top goalscorer, helping Arsenal in crucial moments, including the Champions League. Arsenal are also linked with Spanish youngster Nico Williams, who impressed with Athletic Bilbao and has been excellent for Spain in the Euros. If Edu manages to sign him, we could see Williams, Havertz, and Saka forming Arsenal’s attack.
