protests Kenya

The governments of Russia and Ukraine have issued travel advisories to their citizens in Kenya due to ongoing anti-government protests in Nairobi and other areas.

Both countries advised their citizens to avoid the Nairobi City Centre on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, due to the potential for mass demonstrations.

The Ukrainian Embassy advised avoiding central Nairobi from July 2-4 and monitoring information from Kenyan law enforcement.

The Russian Embassy also recommended avoiding central Nairobi on July 2 and advised taking general precautions.

Kenyan activists and youth, opposing President Ruto, declared Tuesday and Thursday as public holidays for protests, urging nationwide sit-down demonstrations.
